Notable apps and app updates for Sept. 22, 2017

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

St. Clair Software has released Default Folder X 5.1.6, an update to their utility for macOS. 

Default Folder X enhances the file dialogs in all macOS applications. It provides fast navigation to your files, convenient previews, integrated Spotlight tagging, and more. Default Folder X’s custom keyboard shortcuts put your favorite and recent folders at your fingertips. Version 5.1.6 adds support for High Sierra and delivers numerous other improvements.

It requires macOS 10.10 or higher. Default Folder X 5.1.6 is a free update for existing version 5 users. New licenses are $34.95and upgrades from version 4 and prior are $14.95. 

Mobie has announced AnyTrans 6.0.1 (https://www.imobie.com/anytrans/), an update to their utility for Mac and Windows. 

Re-designed with the latest algorithms, it helps users clone all data and files including messages, photos, contacts and more to iPhones in just one click. With version 6.0.1, iOS users can now move all data to the iPhone 8/8 Plus from an old iPhone or from an Android phone.

A demo is available for download. Registration is $39.99 for a single user license.

Lemke Software has rolled out GraphicConverter 10.5, an update to their image editing utility for macOS. 

The app offers anyone the ability to convert almost any graphic file format into nearly 80 graphic formats. Version 10.5 brings support for the new features of macOS High Sierra, new browser functions, improved RAW import with libraw, horizon correction for open images, extraction of image objects for open images and in batch, and much more.

DRmare Studio has unveiled M4V Converter for Mac, a new version of its DRM decryption tool.

The app allows anyone running iTunes 12.7 to remove DRM protection from all iTunes M4V video files, such as movies, TV episodes, music videos, and iTunes Extras without any obstacle. This version fixes iTunes 12.7 compatibility issues on macOS 10.12 Sierra or lower. 

M4V Converter for Mac requires macOS 10.8 or higher. A demo is available for download. Registration is $44.95.

GraphicConverter 10.5 requires macOS 10.9 or higher. It costs $39.95 and is available at the Mac App Store. GraphicConverter 10.5 is a free update for all customers of version 10.x. Upgrades from older versions of GraphicConverter are available for $25.95.

Recosoft Corp. has launched PDF2Office Professional 2017, the latest release of the macOS tool for converting PDF and Windows XPS to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OmniGraffle. The upgrade is now a fully optimized 64-bit app with a modernized user interface, a new area select tool, and more. 

PDF2Office Professional 2017 requires macOS 10.9 or later. It costs $59.99 and is available at the Mac App Store.
